            Once your dog has completed his formal obedience program, the next phase of training will focus on creative distractions and distance work. Reinforcing commands in different training environments as well as alternating the distance of which the commands are given will advertise to your dog- regardless where or whats going on around him -you remain in control.
               Now that we have our dog training tools in our tool box, we can work on the project. The Family Dog program is designed to increase your dog's focus during distractions. We simulate typical social senarios to practice our obedience patterns.

  • Does your dog ignore you when people or pets are around?
  • Does your dog listen better inside the house?
  • Does your dog make your guests uncomfortable?
  • Can you control your dog in public?
  • Will your dog escape if he sees the opportunity?

              Typically dogs do not view children as being worthy of leadership. Some dogs may want to take advantage and manipulate one of equal or lesser status. Supervision and training exercises can correct this problem.

         Social skills are usually at the top of an owner's wish list. A dog that licks too much-jumps on you-barks at everybody-can be pretty annoying. When guests arrive at your door, having your dog demonstrate a willingness to obey simple instruction would be quite impressive. We all want a dog we can be proud of.
